Yesterday I was sitting at work with my ear buds in listening to Lee DeWyze as I always do and again found myself almost completely filled with contentment. His music and voice just makes me happy. Period.
I once read somewhere that the best compliment you can give any artist, whether it’s a visual or performing artist, is that what they created made you feel something that resonated deep within you.
That is exactly what his music does for me. It makes me truly and genuinely happy. To be honest, it's almost overwhelming at times....I know, it sound dramatic, but, it is ....anyway, It inspires me to create my own art to illustrate his words. It makes me want to stop at nothing until you listen to the music too and love it as much as I do…
So, Lee- Thank you for making music. Thank you for sharing your gift with us. Thank you for not changing to be like everything else that is on the radio….
I was going to end there, but while I have you here, how about an update?
Currently I have a few things in the works that I'm trying to fit into the small gaps in our crazy busy life. 3 commission paintings, and one Lee lyric painting.
Lee tweeted some new lyrics last week : Well of course I had images swimming in my mind the second I read them! So I started sketching right away ....this lyric struck a cord with me, I felt like I knew exactly how what he's talking about, I've been there, I'm sure everyone has .
....this is just the initial sketch, the blueprint if you will....this one will keep evolving as my schedule allows and will eventually be a painting. In the painting, if all goes as planned , it will look like you are viewing this scene from a bedroom mirror's reflection. I'm pretty excited about it :-)
That's all I have for now, check back soon for some updates! I will apologize now for any typos as I have yet had coffee :-)
Oh! And if you are lucky enough to be seeing Lee perform today on the West Coast... Have an amazing time!!!!!!
